Reports emerged on Tuesday morning that the NBA champion Warriors had already opted out of a visit to the White House, a decision the team is now denying ever happened.
2017 MVP Kevin Durant led the Warriors to their second title in three years on Monday night when Golden State took down LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers 129-120. According to several reports, the Warriors unanimously decided soon after their victory celebrations that they would not visit President Donald Trump at the White House to commemorate their championship win — but the team has since said they have made no such decision.
“Today is all about celebrating our championship,” the Warriors stated in responding to a Business Insider request for comment. “We have not received an invitation to the White House, but will make those decisions when and if necessary.”

Jimmy Butler scored 22 points, D. Wade added 23 and the Bulls pull together to beat the Phoenix Suns 128-121 in overtime Friday night.

Butler and Wade led the Bulls as they rallied from 11 down in the 4th quarter to beat the Western Conference’s last-place team. Both players scored 14 points in the third to help the Bulls win their 3rd straight.

Nikola Mirotic scored 20 points and hit four 3-pointers. Robin Lopez added 19 points. Denzel Valentine, who figures to get more playing time after Doug McDermott was traded to Oklahoma City along with Taj Gibson on Thursday, had 15points. The rookie hit 5 of 8 three-pointers.

“You get more confidence, obviously, because you’re not looking over your shoulder every time something happens,” Valentine said. “You get more confidence when you know you’re in the rotation.”

Devin Booker scored 27 points for Phoenix but missed a chance to win in regulation after Wade fouled him on a 3-pointer with 1.5 seconds left. Booker hit the first two free throws to tie it, then missed the third.

Bledsoe had 17 points and 10 assists for Phoenix. T.J. Warren and Marquese Chriss scored 17 apiece. Alan Williams added 16 points on 8 of 9 shooting, but the Suns lost for the 6th time in 8 games.

Just being inexperienced,” Booker said. “Not getting stops down the stretch. Committing dumb turnovers. A bunch of stuff leads to that, a lot of stuff we need to work on. We have a lot of young players playing in crunch time, so we’ll learn from it.”

The Bulls tied a franchise record by scoring 20 points in overtime and were leading 116-110 after a seven-point spurt that Mirotic started with a 3.

Bulls take on LBJ and the Cavs tonight in Cleveland. For their first back-to-back game after the All-Star Game.
